The Order produced a number of men outstanding for sanctity of life, whom it honors as saints: Sts. Simon Stock, Albert of Sicily, Angelus the Martyr, Avertanus, Bl. Franco of Sienna. Little is known of these early saints, but Albert and Angelus were widely venerated and have been the subject of portraits by eminent artists.
