Catholic Press Association Awards

Two Carmelites won prizes at the annual Catholic Press Association awards. The awards were announced at the Press Associations annual convention on May 27th in Orlando, Florida.

Bruce Baker, O.Carm.

Father Bruce Baker, O.Carm., won a third place award for best essay for his Lent 2004 spirituality article that appeared in Share the Word magazine which was entitled, “Praying to hear from You in Your Word.” The judges for the Catholic Press Association commented: “Practical, useful essay for the initiated. An engaging introduction to the ancient form of Lectio Divina, the prayerful reading of Scripture, which deservedly is gaining renewed popularity.”

Dr. Keith Egan, T.O.Carm., won a second place award for best feature article for “Banishing Anxiety” which appeared in the Autumn issue of Spiritual Life magazine.
