Look around you. Take the time to consider exactly where you are at this moment. Breathe deeply and meditate on the fact that God knows you, right now, wherever you are. God is with you at this moment and sees you and knows the desires of your heart.
Take a deep breath and allow God's desires to fill your heart.
Exhale, and let go of your worries and those things to which you have been clinging and which may have gotten in the way of your relationship with God today. Take two more deep breaths.
"(The tax collector)...beat his breast and prayed, 'O God, be meriful to me a sinner.'"
Teresa, so drawn to intimacy with God, was equally aware of her unworthiness and need for mercy. She wrote about how those close to God were also more sensitive to their distance from God, because they loved so deeply. As you pray today, ask for mercy and reflect on whom you need to forgive.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
