Breathe in deeply, hold it, and exhale completely. Repeat three times.
Relax. Visualize yourself in God's presence.
What does that feel like? Look like?
Is it an image of peace? Is it an image of anger? Conflict? Love?
Using the words of this mantra, say slowly: ''maranatha'' which is the oldest Christian prayer (it means 'come, Lord'), in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, used by St Paul at the end of the First Letter to the Corinthians (16:22) and found in the earliest Christian liturgies. Repeat the mantra slowly to yourself for as long as it takes to put yourself in a prayerful state.
Look for Christ Our Lord in everyone and you will then have respect and reverence for all.
St Teresa of Avila
If we have ‘eyes to see’ in faith, it is not difficult to see Christ in everyone whom we meet. Ask for the grace to see the face of Christ in all and notice how this affects your attitude toward others.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
How long would you like to pray for?
