Breathe in deeply, hold it, and exhale completely. Repeat three times.
Relax. Visualize yourself in God's presence.
What does that feel like? Look like?
Is it an image of peace? Is it an image of anger? Conflict? Love?
Using the words of this mantra, say slowly: ''maranatha'' which is the oldest Christian prayer (it means 'come, Lord'), in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, used by St Paul at the end of the First Letter to the Corinthians (16:22) and found in the earliest Christian liturgies. Repeat the mantra slowly to yourself for as long as it takes to put yourself in a prayerful state.
If you wish to be a saint, it is not hard. Have one aim -- to please Jesus and to unite yourself more intimately to Him.
St. Therese of Lisieux
Sanctity is not a grandiose idea for Therese. It is simply living a loving life and trying “to unite yourself more intimately” with Jesus. Pray today, to desire only to please Jesus and to be one with Him.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
How long would you like to pray for?
