Put yourself in a comfortable position. Take several deep breaths.
Repeat to yourself: Do not be afraid.
Each time you exhale let go of those things about which you are worried or afraid.
Offer these worries to God, knowing that God's love is infinite.
Allow yourself to accept God's love and grace in return.
This dark night is an inflow of God into the soul that purges it of its habitual ignorance and imperfections, natural and spiritual, and which contemplatives call infused contemplation or mystical theology.
St. John of the Cross
As you are called deeper into the “dark night,” pray today to be receptive to the “inflow of God” into your soul, that will transform and purify you.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
