Look around you. Take the time to consider exactly where you are at this moment. Breathe deeply and meditate on the fact that God knows you, right now, wherever you are. God is with you at this moment and sees you and knows the desires of your heart.
Take a deep breath and allow God's desires to fill your heart.
Exhale, and let go of your worries and those things to which you have been clinging and which may have gotten in the way of your relationship with God today. Take two more deep breaths.
In the midst of these aridities and straits, God frequently communicates to the soul, when it least expects, spiritual sweetness, a very pure love, and spiritual knowledge that is sometimes most delicate.
St. John of the Cross
Pray today to be open to the gifts of “spiritual sweetness, and a very pure love,” that God communicates to you even in the midst of your trials or difficulties in prayer.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
