Check in

Breathe in deeply, hold it, and exhale completely. Repeat three times.
Relax. Visualize yourself in God's presence.
What does that feel like? Look like?
Is it an image of peace? Is it an image of anger? Conflict? Love?
Using the words of this mantra, say slowly: ''maranatha'' which is the oldest Christian prayer (it means 'come, Lord'), in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, used by St Paul at the end of the First Letter to the Corinthians (16:22) and found in the earliest Christian liturgies. Repeat the mantra slowly to yourself for as long as it takes to put yourself in a prayerful state.

Conversation Topic

Jesus, may I die a martyr for You. Give me martyrdom of the soul or of the body. Ah, rather, give me both.
St. Therese of Lisieux

Nothing was too much for Therese to offer to God, her one and only love and her total preoccupation. As you pray today, ask God to draw you closer so that God becomes your only priority.

Disconnect

Quiet yourself. Open your heart.

Take three deep breaths.

Disconnect and listen.

How long would you like to pray for?
