Look around you. Take the time to consider exactly where you are at this moment. Breathe deeply and meditate on the fact that God knows you, right now, wherever you are. God is with you at this moment and sees you and knows the desires of your heart.
Take a deep breath and allow God's desires to fill your heart.
Exhale, and let go of your worries and those things to which you have been clinging and which may have gotten in the way of your relationship with God today. Take two more deep breaths.
And even though [the dark night] humbles persons and reveals their miseries, it does so only to exalt them.
St. John of the Cross
Jesus leads us to exaltation by way of humility – the awareness of our true self in relationship to God and others. In your prayer today, ask to accept “your miseries” and all that is revealed to you through this dark night.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
