Breathe in deeply, hold it, and exhale completely. Repeat three times.
Relax. Visualize yourself in God's presence.
What does that feel like? Look like?
Is it an image of peace? Is it an image of anger? Conflict? Love?
Using the words of this mantra, say slowly: ''maranatha'' which is the oldest Christian prayer (it means 'come, Lord'), in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, used by St Paul at the end of the First Letter to the Corinthians (16:22) and found in the earliest Christian liturgies. Repeat the mantra slowly to yourself for as long as it takes to put yourself in a prayerful state.
The last thing I ask of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, is that you love him alone and...that you encourage one another continually in difficult moments for love of him.
St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi
In your prayer today ask Jesus Christ to help you to live out the two great commandments: love God with all your heart; love your neighbor as yourself.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
How long would you like to pray for?
