Breathe in deeply, hold it, and exhale completely. Repeat three times.
Relax. Visualize yourself in God's presence.
What does that feel like? Look like?
Is it an image of peace? Is it an image of anger? Conflict? Love?
Using the words of this mantra, say slowly: ''maranatha'' which is the oldest Christian prayer (it means 'come, Lord'), in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, used by St Paul at the end of the First Letter to the Corinthians (16:22) and found in the earliest Christian liturgies. Repeat the mantra slowly to yourself for as long as it takes to put yourself in a prayerful state.
I know from experience that the only happiness on earth consists in being hidden and in absolute ignorance of created things.
St. Therese of Lisieux
Therese took the words of Jesus seriously, i.e. “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Pray today that you, too, will “see” God because you are choosing daily to decrease while your loving Lord increases.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
How long would you like to pray for?
