Look around you. Take the time to consider exactly where you are at this moment. Breathe deeply and meditate on the fact that God knows you, right now, wherever you are. God is with you at this moment and sees you and knows the desires of your heart.
Take a deep breath and allow God's desires to fill your heart.
Exhale, and let go of your worries and those things to which you have been clinging and which may have gotten in the way of your relationship with God today. Take two more deep breaths.
As often as God communicated at length with someone, he appeared in darkness.
St. John of the Cross
John offers encouragement to those who have been faithful to God in prayer over many years, but experience God’s presence and communication only in the “darkness.” Pray today that you are patient and not discouraged when your prayer does not meet your own expectations.
Quiet yourself. Open your heart.
Take three deep breaths.
Disconnect and listen.
How long would you like to pray for?
