Father Craig Morrison, O.Carm., Appointed Dean of Near Eastern Studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Biblicum)

Father Craig Morrison, O.Carm., has been named Dean of Near Eastern Studies at the Biblicum. Father Craig is the first non-Jesuit dean in the 110-year history of the Institute.

The new dean, Father Craig, gave the homily at Biblicum’s opening Mass on October 8, 2020, to begin this academic year.

Father Craig Morrison, O.Carm., is originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario.  He is a graduate of the Pontifical Biblical Institute and is currently on the faculty there – and now dean.  Among his books are:

  • Master of the Sacred Page: Essays and Articles in Honor of Roland E. Murphy, O.Carm.,
  • 2nd Samuel,
  • Reflections on Lexicography: Explorations in Ancient Syriac, Hebrew, and Greek Sources.
