As we invite readers to look more closely for God’s grace in their lives this Advent, we also want to encourage people to share these moments with our Carmelite community on the web and Facebook. Where have you come “face to face with love’s own grace” in your life. Show us! Simply download and print out this pdf of our Advent quote (Download “Love’s Own Grace” PDF HERE) and take a picture with it in a scene in your life where you encounter God’s grace (see example below). Think of it as our own hybrid Carmelite Advent prayer/Flat Stanley project! (No Photoshopping!).
Email your pictures to us at email@example.com or send them via message to our Facebook page (please put the word CONTEST in the subject line). We will post the best pictures on our site and Facebook. Don’t be afraid to get creative about where you see the movement of Grace in your world; everything is fair game, from a new born baby or the face of your grandmother to a book that moves you deeply or even your favorite place to sit/relax. There’s no limit to the number of pictures you can enter.
Weekly Winners vs Grand Prize Winner!
The editors will choose the best weekly winner on the second, third and fourth Sundays of Advent. From December 23-29, we will set up a survey that ask our readers to choose the Grand Prize Winner from the three weekly winners. The Grand Prize Winner will receive an iPod Nano loaded with an audio version of Therese of Lisieux’s autobiography Story of a Soul ($175 value). Weekly winners will receive books on Carmelite spirituality and scapulars. Weekly winners and the Grand prize winner will also receive one of four free subscriptions to Magnificat Magazine: English (regular size or large print), Magnificat in Spanish or MagnifiKid! for children.
Weekly prize winners are chosen at the discretion of our editors. Decision of the judges is final. In the event of a tie in the Grand Prize voting, judges will cast the tie-breaking votes. There’s no limit to the number of pictures you can enter. Contest ends on Saturday December 29 at 11:59pm PST.
